I’ve experienced disappointment in my life:
Disappointment can be crushing, devastating, petrifying.
Determination can be a solid foundation upon which to rebuild.
Disappointment can make me bitter.
Determination can make me better.
When I experienced divorce, I learned some tough lessons. Don’t try to fix others. Love people unconditionally. Work on becoming stronger through the difficulties. That’s determination.
When I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, I vowed to fight the disease with diet and exercise. My Dad said, “If anyone can do it, you can!” I agreed. That’s determination.
When I was laid off, I viewed it as an opportunity to do what I love. Live on purpose. Be intentional. Start my own business. That’s determination.
So what about you? What disappointments have you experienced? What can you do to turn disappointment into determination? Share your thoughts with me – I’d love to hear what works for you!
The choice is yours. You can choose to be bitter, or you can choose to be better. It’s all a matter of perspective.
