Places in My Heart

Three of my closest friends have the same first name: Kathi, Kathy, and Kathie. God blessed me with the friendship of these loving, Christian women. Just as the spelling of their names is unique, my relationship with each of them is unique. When we’re together, it’s as if we were never apart. No matter how much time has passed, no matter how many miles separate us, our hearts are always connected. Together we share our joys, sorrows, celebrations, and heartaches. Each of these dear friends holds a special place in my heart.

Over the years these friends have given me heartfelt gifts. Highlighted in this photo is a special gift from each of them.

Kathi gave me a plaque: “There’s a ribbon ‘round my heartstrings; it’s knotted at the end. It starts around my heart and soul, and ends with you, my friend.” Kathy gave me an angel nightlight: “A friend loves at all times – Proverbs 17:17.” Kathie gave me a mug: “You’re the friend everyone wishes they had.” Wow – I am blessed!

The same is true of my relationship with God. One God – three names: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. My relationship with each is unique. Father = Creator; Son = Savior; Holy Spirit = Companion. God touches my heart and impacts my life in countless ways. And because of God’s great love for me, I can love others. The gifts I receive from God include my earthly life from my Creator; eternal life from my Savior; comfort, guidance, and peace from my Companion.

God taught me through my friends to share my heart and soul, to love at all times, and to be the friend I wish I had. God taught me through His Word about His great love for all. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  He holds the biggest place in my heart!
